Audio is not working

Hi guys, I recently bought a new laptop, Huawei Matebook 14 2021, and I decided to install endeavouros because I was very comfortable with my old laptop.
However, I have an annoying problem that doesn’t allow me to hear sound through my speaker or even use my microphone.
I would be very grateful if you could help me solve them.
Thanks in advance

You could simply search the forum, before posting a question that has been asked innumerable times already.

BTW: Welcome to the EndevourOS forum site, @roccoa :enos: !

Thanks for answering me and I tried to find the solution on my own but I didn’t succeed.

If pulseaudio recognizes no soundcard (dummy sound indicates that) it is usually missing the driver, or using the wrong driver.

    driver: sof-audio-pci-intel-tgl
    alternate: snd_hda_intel,snd_sof_pci_intel_tgl

You could try snd_hda_intel instead of the one in use.

I’m sorry, how would i do ?

To remove the driver in use:
sudo pacman -Rc snd_sof_pci_intel_tgl

Then to install the new driver:
sudo pacman -S snd_hda_intel , and reboot.

The following commands give me these output:

sudo pacman -Rc snd_sof_pci_intel_tgl
errore: il seguente pacchetto non è stato trovato: snd_sof_pci_intel_tgl

sudo pacman -S snd_hda_intel
errore: il seguente pacchetto non è stato trovato: snd_hda_intel

@roccoa, welcome to the forums. :rocketa_purple:

You can try the solution described on Arch forums:

Yeah, I was wrong with the commands I gave you, as those are kernel-modules. Sorry for that.

I looked around on the web, and it seems related to your chipset not yet being included in any official linux kernels, regardless of the linux distro you use, as of yet, sadly.

Also, here.

One last thing you could try is installing an lts-kernel by this command:
sudo pacman -S linux-lts linux-lts-headers , and reboot.

Ok, switching to LTS kernel allowed to detect my soundcard in alsamixer buy, despite that I cannot hear anything from my speaker

Think I read somewhere to plug in earphones could work. Did you try that?

yes, but didn’t work

Try bluetooth sound?

Yeah, it is the only one that works

At least!

:joy: :joy: :joy: nono this worked also previously

I’m afraid, I can’t find a working solution on the net. Sorry. Really seems related to the China Grove.

One last suggestion to try (given above by @Triby ), without any proof of it to be possibly working, or not @roccoa :
https://archlinux.org/packages/extra/x86_64/sof-firmware/

Install:
sudo pacman -S sof-firmware, and reboot.

Uninstall:
sudo pacman -Rc sof-firmware
