Artemis II Launch Broadcast

SpaceX has indeed spoilt us with their video feeds. Bad SpaceX.
The only thing that galls me is that we do not have a Lunar base station. 20+ years of ISS and counting. By this time ISS ought to have been a staging ground for a Lunar base where we master and do in-situ resource utilization.

I too wanna get my Rocket driving license.

Was proud to see the launch of Artemis II. The Canadian Jeremy Hansen is from a town right beside me although I don’t know him personally. He went to school here and probably has a good story how he ended up where he is now as do the others. Hope to see them get back safe.

How are these 4 guys going to do their daily ablutions and evacuate their bowels? They will be in their cramped quarters for more than a week.

FYI

There are 3 men and one women astronauts in the team on this launch.

What is the bright white spot, SONNE, on the left hand side?

sonne = sun in german

Artificially magnified position of the Sun, the Moon, planets, deep-sky objects like M42 are shown, too, either with science names, or local translations.

Allegedly, clouds can be shown, too, but I haven’t figured out.

With the launch of Artemis II, there are now 10 toilets in space :toilet: and none of them are anywhere near Uranus

Stellarium: Observer is in West Europe, looking through the Earth.

The TLE url can be used in any: Stellarium, Gpredict, Marble etc.

I say to the Artemis II astronauts, just go for it. Do the first space mutiny, take over the craft and land the damn thing on the far side of the moon. Get out, hop about a bit and return.

NASA wont be able to do s**t about it. You will come back as heroes. Seize the opportunity. I know I would. It is a crime against humanity that they are forced to look from afar but not touch. Such prude.

Canadians in the Artemis, be a rebel. Come on you can do it.

Moment of LOS (loss of signal)

The title of the video is a bit scary. I was nervous watching the video until I heard “It’s expected”.

Imagine how much Nutella would have had to pay for this advert, and they get it for free :exploding_head:

They took peanut butter to space? Dont they know that it induces gas?

Well Nutella is delicious, so I get it!
