will probably watch it if i am able to and not too tired for it
(timezones (probably) + have driving license test thing going on too, hope i dont fail)
Good luck on your test
Thank you
When politicians and bureaucrats tell scientists what results to get and when, I get very skeptical of their assurances that everything is sound. I’m old enough to remember Apollo 1. I remember Soyuz 11. I saw the Challenger disaster half an hour after the explosion. I watched Columbia’s reentry live.
Normalized deviance is endemic in today’s world and NASA is no exception. While I may lack the scientific knowledge and experience to dive deeply into all aspects, statistically speaking space travel is so complex and dangerous that the holes WILL line up in the swiss cheese and we’ll lose people again. Discussions about the heat shield tests and failures have me concerned enough to be nervous about the crew’s survival.
I want to watch. And I don’t want to watch. I want the crew to go to the moon and return safely. Stay safe, Artemis II. Please return home safely.
This is very similar to the way I plan my shopping trip to Tesco every weekend. ![]()

I’m sitting back with my coffee and some cheese and bacon sandwiches watching now waiting.
So it finally happened.
Good now next one is the landing on the moon right? right?
That would be cool to see again
Yep we are going to relive what our parents lived through. Apollo Redux.
How soon will NASA be bringing back cheese from the Moon for us to eat? ![]()
I have to say… I feel bad for the astronauts. This looks so uncomfortable. Everywhere sharp edges etc, really looks like technology from very, very long time ago ![]()
For comparison:
Artemis II vs some spacex Crew rocket from the inside
Also, but this is me being spoiled probably.. (but I have a good reason to say this I think) I wish there were more, and better quality cameras on board.. Like, we don’t get to see much what is happening up there, and what we do see is like choppy with artifacts and in 5 fps.. This isn’t good. they show clips here and there but just for like 3 seconds or so.. Else for the rest the time they show this animation thing the whole time.
For comparison again, for what we could have gotten with better and more on board cams, Artemis vs starship (can’t show 5fps and choppyness on picture) :
(last one is the animation thing, also chose pictures with less artifacts here )
Here is starship with decent video quality (you gotta see it on video, I can only show pictures here) :
(hope all pictures I uploaded didn’t get too much compressed)
So, the “good reason” I said this is:
I now can’t show my *ahem (earth is flat/space is fake) mom (who I very love) what is happening (she won’t care anyway though)… Yeah, with that feed NASA showed us.. It will be cgi and fake again… With starship videos she at least says “yeah, looks cool I guess” but I don’t think she will say this with Artemis II if I myself am a bit disappointed with the footage.. But me being sad that I didn’t see as much as I get to see with spacex missions is different from the point that people will joke about this who think like my mom (sorry mom, i love you still
)
Also, even if I am critical about the stream and cams and all, I am glad that so far everything is going well. Hope the team will get back home safely.
(also for those who care: my driving license test, the first out of 3 went good
)
Congratulations
Nice.
