Hi all,
So since i use Endeavour OS for almost 2 years i have a issue with ARK. When i extract heroic games launcher downloaded from their github page, it does not extract a folder when i extract the files manually from the tar.xz. To get a better idea i made a video of it.
If i extract the whole folder (Heroic-2.22.4-linux-x64) (without selecting all files) it does extract everything. Am i doing something wrong or is this a bug on KDE’s side ?

In the video, you select all files and directories except the directory.
Select only the directory and retry.
Yes, that is how you are supposed to do it.
I can see that you are selcting everything, I dont see this normally but it is odd you have to extact the locales folder as you had it selected unless I missed somehting.
I normally just extract a whole directory then remove what I dont need.

This is exactly how it is supposed to work.
If you only select one file 3 directories down, should it then extract 3 directories and then put the file inside those directories? Ofc not.
I was a winrar user for over 20 years, this i new to me. In winrar when i selected the files i wanted to extract it would extract. In otherwords if you don’t extract the folder in ARK you can get missing files ? this looks more like a bug to me, if i don´t want to extract everything.
No it doesn’t. If you select only the files in winrar, it extracts only the files.
If i select the folders in winrar it extracts as well, ark does not do that with the first folder as seen in the video.
Care to explain why resources folder gets extracted in the video ?
i don’t think they did, i watched a few times and didn’t see this unless i missing something real obvious
In the video you deselect the directory.
Select the directory and it will be included.
He literally says it works if he includes the directory in OP.
Yes which is weird, again when i used winrar i could extract everything just fine without selecting the “main” directory.
only main directory, the directory not added was selected from what i see, so bug

The files A, B and C should be extracted, but A is not. That’s a bug.
