Hey i just wanted to do a system update and saw that
lib32-libva-mesa-driver
is about to be replaced by lib32-mesa
is that correct? I also checked the package here and it seems to also replace lib32-mesa-vdpau
.
I’m wondering because i only got the message that lib32-libva-mesa-driver is about to be replaced tough it seems like the mesa driver now in general includes all hardware acceleration? Looking at the mesa packages It seems like it also now includes libva-mesa-driver
. Are these packages now obsolute and should i remove them?
They were just merged. https://archlinux.org/packages/multilib/x86_64/lib32-mesa/

Should i remove the old packages then manually since they seem to be in conflict?
Accept the changes, and you can use pacman -Qi pkgname
to check if the other packages are needed (check the “Required By” and “Optional For” sections).
That said, you don’t actually need to remove them.
Ty I was just stupid. I thought only one package was about to be replaced. Now after i accepted the first replacement pacman asked me if i also want to replace the other packages
Not stupid. Just cautious. You’re using Arch, so one bad or uninformed mistake can bork your whole system, or mess with some games or other apps.
