Hello,

I have been thinking of something I read on Garuda Linux:

Something along the line of that the Linux distro would not operate well in a Sandboxing environment, like vmware…

Do you have any idea why this would he happening?

Does it also apply to Endeavor?

Btw these are the pics after i Wiped windows 11 off my old main gaming PC ( Desktop). What do you think about the specs i have ? Vs requirements for performance?

EOS works fine in a VM.

I think Garuda says that because:

  • They use a lot of visual effects and if you don’t know how to properly get 3D acceleration working in your VM you will have a poor experience.
  • They don’t want to have to support all the people complaining about a poor experience in a VM because of that.

I’ve never had a problem running EndeavourOS in VirtualBox. I didn’t really do for that long though before I commited it to my hardware.

It looks and runs fine.

As far as hardware, you need to have sufficient RAM for both the host and the VM and a CPU that supports hardware virtualization which would be most modern CPUs.

Not having enough RAM is likely to be your biggest problem on an older machine.

On my bedside laptop, built in 2011, EndeavourOS works just fine :wink:
