Applications in i3 are zoomed in

Hello,

I am having a issue in i3 in which some applications are zoomed in. One of these is texmaker another is xflr5. Any tips on how to fix this? One image is with i3wm and another with xfce the same applications. Other applications like the terminal or web browsers are displayed correctly even some games.

Could be related to DPI/scaling.

What is your output of xrandr? Do you have a DE installed along i3?

The first two things that come to my mind are high dpi screen and global scaling of gtk vs qt apps. These can be fixed by scaling in .profile.

i would also check gtk theming settings on i3 in using xfce4 and i3 on same user it is a good idea to remove all gtk settings and set from scratch if you have issues.
It seems that there are some changes on the way settings are saved, i do currently work on that but not 100% sure how it changed.

you can simply remove that files and folders logout and back in and set theming and font as you like.

Thanks for your link I currently dont have either .profile or .Xresources created in the home directory. I might try creating them although I don’t know what to do for a dual monitor setup.

Running QT_SCALE_FACTOR=0.001 texmaker I managed to get texmakers gui to a decent size. It also works with the other program. How can i make this change permanent? I did it creating a line in .profile which says export QT_SCALE_FACTOR=0.001 . The gui looks good but the buttons dont work.
