No big changes, but enough to keep the bus rolling 
LXQt 0.16.0 is now in community-testing (and running here).
But still not webp. So one is forced to use a different viewer only for this, e.g. gthumb.
Addendum:
Installing qt5-imageformats solves the problem.
I hope they add sddm-conf to make life easier
