AMD Radeon VII 16GB HBM2, 1750 MHz Boost, 1801 MHz Peak Gaming Graphics Card

I just ordered a used an AMD Radeon VII 16GB HBM2, 1750 MHz Boost, 1801 MHz Peak Gaming from ebay.

It is my first upgrade from my PC current AMD, Pitcairn XT, Radeon HD 7870 GHz Edition.

    Vendor: AMD (0x1002)
Device: AMD Radeon HD 7800 Series (radeonsi, pitcairn, ACO, DRM 3.61, 6.14.4-x64v2-xanmod1) (0x6818)
    Version: 25.2.0
    Accelerated: yes
    Video memory: 2048MB
    Unified memory: no
    Preferred profile: core (0x1)
    Max core profile version: 4.6
    Max compat profile version: 4.6
    Max GLES1 profile version: 1.1
    Max GLES[23] profile version: 3.2

Is the upgrade just replacing the GPU and reboot?

It was as simple as that,

  1. Replace GPU
  2. Replace the GPU video cable to a new DP and DP supporting 4K and 8K.
  3. Rebooot
  4. Sanity check vainfo, vdapuinfo, mpv, vlc, glx benchmarks Unigine, all are working just fine
