All chrome and chrome related browsers are not launching properly

All chrome related browsers are not launching properly on my system since last update. Particularly Brave, Vivaldi and Chrome all are not launching properly.

On other side firefox seems fine.

How do I solve it?

What is happening, specifically?

UI is not responding and blinking

Looks to me like an issue with an extension. Maybe that screensaver one? See if you can remove or disable all of your extensions and try again.

Try creating a new, clean profile in one of the browsers and see if that resolves it.

@OBXandos

They don’t respond on any click though!

I tried $ brave --profile-directory="New Profile" but it didn’t respond.

Try this with Brave closed:

mv ~/.config/BraveSoftware  ~/.config/BraveSoftware.old

Then you should get a completely clean version of Brave. You can always put it back later if that turns out to not be the problem.

Just tried this but the same result.

Try removing xf86-video-intel and rebooting.

Thanks, It worked!!

Is the driver not necessary?

No, that driver hasn’t been updated in years. It is only needed for very old Intel hardware(like 20 years old). The modesetting driver is what you want for your hardware.
