After the last system update there is a log in failure

Hi,

I try to log in. And I get this message after log in.
What is going wrong?
This happened after the last update.
If there is a work around, please let me know.

Kind regards,

Dirk Dahlmanns.

What DE? If it is Budgie, maybe this Budgie not starting correctly

I understand,

but a log out and a new log in create the same message.
At the time I am not able to log in.
So I have to stop the boot process and I have to repair the system with some commands in the terminal.

I tried to change the keyboard layout in the settings of the log in screen.
It’s the same result.

There are a few ifs here in order to help you since we don’t know your Desktop Environment.
But if it is Budgie, then you can do a normal system update.
Package eos-settings-budgie version 1.8-1 should fix the issue.
To run it, you need to use either a TTY (press Ctrl-Alt-F3) or arch-chroot into your system (see our wiki).

If Budgie, look at the link!

My desktop environment is Budgie.

Hi again,

the system was started into terminal by holding the keys Ctrl-Alt-F3 and the update was started.

But it was the same problem as before.

Now i installed the kde plasma desktop with terminal commands.

It works :+1:

I will further try to repair the budgie desktop environment and i will give a feedback.

Thanks a lot,
Dirk.

There’s another thread about this, see Budgie not starting correctly - #10 by athens420

The last update fixed it.
