A start job is running for dracut innitqueue hook

I’ve seen posts about this from others on here, but mine seems to be a bit different. For one, this has been happening to me for a couple months, where my startup is delayed by about a minute and a half due to this error. Second difference is that I’ve tried the fixes that I’ve seen which have solved it for others, to no avail. This includes reinstalling kernel, and downgrading linux and linux headers. Though I should note that I am on the LTS version of Endeavour, so the version specified to downgrade to in those posts are technically newer than what I am on.

I don’t know if it’s related, but I also don’t seem to be getting updated for packages which I know have updates available. The best example is discord, which I know has had two new versions past the one I have if I go look at the repository, but using “yay” or -Syyu doesn’t show the new versions. The way I’ve gotten it to work is by doing “sudo downgrade discord” and then choosing the latest option.

UPDATE: New things I’ve tried. I’ve seen one person say that they reseated their components and that fixed their issue, which it did not for me. Another then said that switching a particular USB device to a different port fixed their issue, which it did not for me. However, this prompted me to take a closer look at the boot sequence, and noticed that at the very start of booting it get “hub 10-0:1.0: config failed, hub doesn’t have any ports! (err -19)”. I suspect that if I can figure out what port this is, I can solve the problem.

I fixed the issue, and it turned out to be quite different from what others had suggested.

What I tried that didn’t work: Changing linux and linux-headers to an earlier version. Rebuilding dracut. Unplugging all USB devices. Reseating all components.

What finally worked: Upon manually updating linux-lts and linux-lts-headers (I didn’t think to change this instead of regular linux, but this didn’t solve the issue directly anyway) and rebooting, I paid a little more attention to the boot sequence. Briefly, before the repeating dracut error message would pop up, something else would be in it’s place: “linux usb 1-9 device descriptor read/64 error 110”. After a search or two, I found out this is almost always to do with a power issue to USBs. So, I powered down, unplugged the power cable to my PC on both ends, and held the power button down a couple times for a few seconds each to entirely reset the power. After plugging everything back in and powering up, the problem is completely solved.
