I hate when this happens. Partly because someone was apparently offended enough by a post or response to flag it, and partly because curiosity gets the best of me. It eats at me like an itch I canāt reach.
Was it a drive-by flagging? (with no real intent behind it)

Never, I suspect. Iāve seen really old threads with posts containing the same flag warning.
Yea there was no legitimate reason to flag it or hide it. The person that flagged it should of been warned and blocked from the thread.

There should be some mechanism to request a review by a moderator for flagged posts.

Can you not just contact a mod and contest it?
All flags are reviewed by a moderator. That is what flags are. They are a request for a moderator to review it.
That being said, in my opinion, that post is an obvious rules violation. It violates our rules on politics.

Yep, you sometimes wonder if itās just a random accidental flagging 
For it to be political it would have had to specify one or another political party specifically, but you knew that.

It isnāt acceptable anywhere on the forum. But the moderators donāt read every post in the jokes topic so if nobody flags it, it may not be noticed.
