It’s gregarious and animated and some real estate is taken up; I agree with what many have posted
But I guarantee you I’m going to forget all about all about it 3 days

I get no animation with the one I see
probably about how long it will take most to really get used to it.
not literally animated. I meant to say ‘busy’ I think.
I think a flickering redlight and a blinking comma at the top after the word ‘back’ (like the old cursors of the day) would give it the HAL9000 effect and that would be real cool.
Thanks for the welcome! I think it is good to give a prominent place to the forums search function.
Now nobody who is welcome here can say that the didn’t know the forum had a search function.
I surely will be using it more,
I could research but lazy and to help others so they dont need to look, what does this mean please
lively
edit: that’s one of them $5 dollar words you use when you only have 50 cents
Thank you
I agree with your edit too, that was what I was tryig to write nicely
This took me by surprise. . . . . . now I definitely know who I am. Had some doubts earlier in the day. . . . .

I’m another one who hid the greeting and kept the search. The greeting was too “in your face” for my taste. But, if you wanted to draw attention to it then mission accomplished
Sweet!
What search function??
I haven’t researched it, but since it is new and I want to see if it really has effect on new users, I will give it some research and attention once it really brings in a change on the forum.
I’m not so keen on the size and looks of it either, but it does draw the attention to it. Also, I am extremely busy at work, so I don’t have a lot of time at the moment.
I love this new feature a lot, nice quality of life improvement for me who uses the forum search tool more than I wish to
Ok, I’ve too moved on with blocking the element…I’ve left the search (for now).
I don’t like it, it’s redundant for me.
Maybe it will remind new users to search first. If you can see if there will be more searches, then it should stay, but otherwise it’s not that useful.
It would be nice if it used wide screens better. If it would be 10-20% wider then it would be great.
And for those who do not know how or do not want to search before asking it will make it easier for us to search for them.
Just an idea. I realize you and the other EOS Devs have day jobs and lives to live. I wasn’t suggesting you jump on this quickly. Apologies if it came across that way. Thanks for all you do!
