@dirtydog: On a related note – I used to be able to crash Windows by simply renaming a graphics file like a GIF or JPEG with .EXE extension and executing it – total lockup, not even a BSOD! Microsoft finally fixed that around the time of Windows XP.

And it only took 35 years… No bad. Finally something positive to say about MS.
