Once while stuck in bumper-to-bumper traffic on a rainy afternoon, I witnessed a lightning strike on a utility pole about 100 yards ahead of me. The thunderclap was deafening, and the image of the bolt persisted for several minutes. When I finally managed to inch my car up to the site of the strike, I noticed a steaming crater about a yard wide at the base of the pole. I wonder what it sounded like for the occupant(s) of the car that was next to that pole when it was struck!
What can you expect from Panasonic that forced that idiotic VHS standard instead of the superior Betamax!
