Found it! There is a new line of code to comment out:
#strip_workspace_number yes
Or I assume to say no instead of yes…
It’s in the main config file… but don’t know the reasoning why that was added. Nonetheless happy day, found what I was looking for. My i3 setup gets better and better every week!

happy you find what you want . i use different config + use polybar so ( all bar thing for i3status or i3block ) no in my i3 config
