You cannot increase the size of an exfat partition with Gparted

A TB-sized Lacie Porsche external disk was given. I wanted to increase the size of the 800 GB exfat partition to the maximum size, but the only option is to move the partition. Gparted supports the exfat file system. What could be the problem?

Can we see the partition layout?

One issue could be that you can only extend a partition to the right. If your free space is on the left, you can’t expand in that direction.

I can confirm OP’s issue with resizing the exfat partition in Gparted even if the unallocated space is to right. Moving the whole partition to the right seems to work though.

I can confirm that moving works, resizing does not. As a workaround, I created a FAT partition, moved the small amount of data on the EXFAT partition to it, and after deleting it, I was able to expand the size of the newly created FAT partition to the size of the entire disk.
