We got mesa 26 in Arch repos, which is said to improve AMD RT performance. So I tested my AMD RT performance in Portal with RTX on test chamber 18Adv.

My specs:

RX 7900 XTX
R7 7800X3D
64GB DDR5 6000MT/s
==================
3440x1440 display
==================
In game settings:
graphics Ultra
XeSS Quality (thanks NightSightProductions for AMD mod)

Mesa 26 is in this scenario a 3 FPS improvement over Mesa 25, which can be pass/fail this close to 30 FPS, so I am happy.

What are your experiences?

I will have to do some testing this weekend. Last time I tested there was about a ~25% performance drop on AMD between Linux and Windows in Cyberpunk with a heavy RT workload. That was even worse than NVIDIA. So I am curious to see how much they have closed the gap.

My 3 FPS was 10% improvement, now I am at Windows performance (but on Windows I know figures before XeSS got added, as I deleted Windows before this happened). I wish you luck.

So, I did some testing on a couple of games. Cyberpunk 2077 showed no change at all. Black Myth Wukong saw a 22% improvement from 36 fps to 44 fps. That was on a 9070 XT.

So, I guess it is highly game dependent.
