hi there currently installing a EOS on a Thinkpad T520 - well this Notebook has not the newest hardware so the question is : which Desktop-Environment to choose!? Choose the one you like the best. Most modern DEs will run fine on older hardware. Unless you have less than 3GB of RAM, I wouldn’t worry about it overly. If you have a spinning disk in that laptop, KDE can sometimes feel a little sluggish. With an SSD, any of them should be fine.
