Xfce 4.14 Vega video graphics issue and fix

I know a few folks, me included and I think mainly Radeon Vega, had some issues after the new 4.14 came out
My solution was to disable compositor but then I came across this thread

so by running xfconf-query -c xfwm4 -p /general/vblank_mode -s off
I can now re-enable Compositor and the world looks like a better place :smile:

Thanks for the tip and the link. I didn’t need to run xconf etc. By running the vblank_mode off just once, my video was behaving correctly after restarting several times. My computer is an Asrock deskmini A300 with Ryzen 2200g.

Good stuff, I’ve got a 2200g too, sat in an unopened box for about a year :face_with_hand_over_mouth:
I’ve been having fun overclocking a 200GE and cos it’s a 35w cpu running off a laptop psu I feel I’m doing my bit to help save the planet :crazy_face:
