ok guys, bear with me…I installed xanmod kernel and headers with yay and everything looked good installing but I think I am missing a step. Upon reboot, the xanmod kernel is not in the selection. Only the Zen and original kernel are listed. I am by no means an expert as you can see and think I may have overlooked something?
Did you update grub? Try:
sudo grub-mkconfig -o /boot/grub/grub.cfg

I wonder why the PKGBUILD of xanmod doesn’t provide the same post-install experience of e.g. updating grub and rebuilding DKMS drivers, as the same of the Zen kernel does.

That isn’t done by the kernels. The kernels don’t know which bootloader you are using. There is a grub hook on eos systems that looks for specific kernels.
