Would you tell your kids your pseudonym that you use on the internet

My son just threw a tantrum because I wouldn’t.

I like my privacy, so NO.

I would if they asked. I can’t think of why it would be a problem.

I can’t see why I shouldn’t. I don’t have FecesBook, and don’t really use my Twitter account. If he finds me on Mastodon, who cares really.

In a few years, if the apple falls close to the tree, he’ll just have himself to blame if we end up on the same mature oriented lifestyler community, and in the long run it’s better for him to know that it’s me, as I’m a moderator demi-god there.

[Edit]: I just DDG:ed my nick… and I’m not gay porn star beefcake Mr. Ecks! :joy:

My daughter is welcome to know my pseudonym, I don’t use social media so it is just this forum and some old stuff on the archived Manjaro forum. :grinning:

The kids undoubtedly know for years now - if they happen to care! Of course - the real question becomes…what about the grandkids?

Don’t have kids, but on sites that I don’t care about the association with my real identity I use my name or some derivative of it so anyone who wishes to snoop will find what I don’t mind them knowing  For other sites, I use pseudonyms for a reason.
