Workers & Resources: Soviet Republic Black Screen solution

I figured I’d post this here in case anyone else ends up having the issue in the future like I did:
I was trying to launch Workers & Resources: Soviet Republic on steam but running into an issue where the game would launch successfully, but only display a black screen (albeit with a working main menu).

Logs revealed that there was an issue with DXVK (“D3D11Device::CreateShaderModule: Class linkage not supported”), so I ended up uninstalling and reinstalling it from the AUR, and after a reboot it began working immediately! My guess is that the culprit was the flathub version, which is what got automatically installed during the steam dependency installation process.

Hopefully this saves someone in the future some time and frustration.

That was the first place I was going to post, but when I tried to log in the website simply refused to load, and it still refuses to load outside of private mode. :sweat_smile:
