Does anyone else have this problem?
Well, it was a weird situation. The system setting was displaying that the kernel version was 6.13.8, the package cache had 6.14.2 and it seems that the new package I installed was 6.14.2. I downgraded it to 6.13.8 using the packman -U
option and rebooted, and now Wi-Fi and sound work again.
Yes, on my Lenovo ThinkPad P14s Gen 5 AMD with KDE, after updating the kernel to 6.14.2 I lost wifi and sound. I rebooted into the LTS kernel 6.12.23 and it works fine again. Tried the 6.14.2 again and same thing. Iām running the LTS kernel hoping it gets fixed.
Which WIFI and sound chip does your computer have ?
- Audio device: Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. [AMD/ATI] Rembrandt Radeon High Definition Audio Controller
- Network controller: Qualcomm Technologies, Inc QCNFA765 Wireless Network Adapter (rev 01)
If that is so, this is bizarre, because my laptop has Intel sound and Intel Wi-Fi. This would probably mean that it affects a broad range of Wi-Fi/sound hardware, not just some specific hardware. How come this was not caught during the testing and was released?
- Audio device: Intel Corporation Sunrise Point-LP HD Audio (rev 21)
- Network controller: Intel Corporation Wireless 8265 / 8275 (rev 78)
