Wi-Fi Disconnects Completely Until Reboot (mt7921e on EndeavourOS)

Hi everyone,

I’m facing a strange and frustrating Wi-Fi issue on my laptop running EndeavourOS (Arch-based).

:hammer_and_wrench: Problem Description

  • While using my laptop, the Wi-Fi suddenly disconnects.

  • All available Wi-Fi networks disappear — the network manager shows no networks at all.

  • Restarting NetworkManager or systemctl restart NetworkManager does not fix it.

  • The only way to bring Wi-Fi back is to reboot — but even then, shutdown/reboot sometimes freeze my system, forcing me to use the power button.

:laptop: System Details

  • Distro: EndeavourOS (fully updated)

  • Kernel: uname -r → (6.16.7-arch1-1)

  • Wi-Fi Card: MediaTek MT7921e (lspci | grep -i network → 0000:2d:00.0 Network controller: MEDIATEK Corp. MT7921 802.11ax PCI Express Wireless Network Adapter)

  • GRUB CMDLINE:

    GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT=“nowatchdog nvme_load=YES nvidia_drm.modeset=1 loglevel=3”

Are you dual booting with Windows?
