Let me elaborate: I put this type of blocking under piracy too, since the company doesn’t want you to get access to their content. I find region locking idiotic and I hate it with all my being, but I put it under piracy for simplicity sake. If you use a VPN to get around annoying regional uses, like locking or around issues regarding the language of a website or what have you, I understand your struggle and I feel you.
For privacy sake, which is what lune seems to be using Mullvad for, I find it no better than trusting your ISP. Unless you begin hosting your own VPN, which takes some effort and stuff can break at any time, I don’t find using a VPN to be any more privacy conscious than just not using one.
This is for me, personally. I personally don’t care if my ISP sees what websites I visit, nor if my government does. I am trying to limit companies whose primary method of gaining money is to sell me crap, not to become anonymous to the government. If you want to hide that, go ahead. I find it an exercise in frustration for not much of a benefit for me.
Am I not getting something here?
