When does it make sense to use an AppImage instead of an AUR?

I use AUR and repos before I will appimage,flatpak, or snaps.

Same here, pretty much. Though you couldn’t pay me to use Snap apps.

My personal preference is in this order: Arch Repos - AUR /Chaotic AUR - Flatpak - Appimage.
