What's your favourite search engine?

But this is about a browser. A new product. This is like chrome from google. The search engine is a different story.

My point is if they are going to do it for their browser, who says they are not doing it or going to do it with Perplexity AI also. Not saying it’s happening or will happen, I just find it smart to think about even for myself.

I have used Kagi from the start. Highly recommend.

Which plan are you using? How’s it compared to Google, I used the trial but didn’t get enough of an impression to continue with it, still using Whoogle.

I use the Professional plan.

I haven’t used Google in years so I can’t compare. All I can say is, I seem to have no issues searching for results.

It’s been a while since I last tried it with the trial account, will try again so I can see have a good comparison when actually using a paid plan.

I recently found out about Kagi, and spent a whole month doing side-by-side comparisons of Kagi Search, Brave Search, and Google. I was surprised that, in the end, I found Brave to be the best!

There is still no real competitor to Google Maps, as far as I can tell, which is too bad. I use it a lot.

At least half of my my searches are now done through search-enabled AIs (I think Gemini Pro is currently the best), but I’m guessing that’s outside the scope of this topic.

Used “Qwant” and switched to “DuckDuckGo” some weeks ago.

I mostly use Presearch now, also providing a local node for the Presearch network. It’s a decentralised, privacy respecting search engine.

As secondaries, I might use DuckDuckGo or Qwant.

I just tried Brave (but in Vivaldi), not impressed, I will probably stick with Whoogle. I as about to try @Bink’s suggestion, more coffee first.

These are the ones I have tried over the year:
