What's the most you've paid for delivery (locally)?

So just went to purchase a monitor, desk and a desk light was happy with the price until I saw the delivery cost - $84.40. I’ve never paid more than $20 in my life (locally) and never will. (The cost of the items was $329.89)

It starts at about $12 where I live, but pretty much only if the delivery location is in a relatively close part of the same city. Once it’s another city, no matter the distance, the price doubles.

Of course, there are exceptions, but you have to get them when they are having a good day.

Yer $12 is about the average I pay here. The store I was looking at is local (I can walk there in 20 minutes) but since I don’t have a car or know anyone with 1 this is my option. I won’t get a taxi/uber (long story)

Might have to pay a neighbour or a stranger?

The only neighbour I have with a car does not like me at all (I stood up to her, she rang police, police took my side and so did housing so yer). Got a mate seeing if his carer would do it.

Man’s neighbour is a Karen. Sorry bro. :people_hugging:

That is 150% correct, my other neighbour has dementia (she is a lovely lady though) and the rest are like me and have mental health issues like me or are addicts (not sure which category the karen falls into)

Goes to show that no matter where you are, there’s always a gonna be a Karen.

personally for any shipped purchase?

  1. $5 max. anything else is pure greed on the seller’s part. there is no excuse for $10 or above because odds are excellent that the price of the item is marked up.
More than 5 bones I stop wanting the item on principle and work on Plan B.
$12 is robbery. So is 10. So is 8 and so is 7.
You can always find someone to sell you something on your own terms--if it takes me 2 more hours I don’t care. etc.
  2. but generally I screen out paid shipping sellers and just look for free.

Yer I am shopping around the competior company has way lower delivery costs but the products just don’t meet my standards.

They did that, am now looking at getting Raspberry Pi 400 for $90 and the seller is going to meet me at their workplace tomorrow which is only a 5 minute walk. I already have 2 desks and plenty of lighting just looking for a monitor now. Need something a bit better to save my eyes.

Just got 6 usbs the other day, worked out a better price for what i was getting and as they are for backups even better

Nice. have had a 6-pak of 64GB usbs (sandisk) in my cart for a month now at ebay. phenomenal prices right now.
I don’t think there is a big market for them anymore but I have to agree with you they are more practical than a dedicated external sometimes for storage.
