Smartphone (Android): Mull
Fallback: preinstalled Browser (I think it’s a firefox-fork) on my de-googled Shiftphone (ShiftOS-L)

Desktop-PC: Librewolf
Fallback: Firefox

primary - Vivaldi
secondary - Floorp
testing - Zen

Primary - Mercury
Secondary - Ungoogled Chromium (for whenever a website complains about Firefox)
Phone - Vanadium (on GrapheneOS)

Been Trying to get around mess with the Zen browser and I have to say I really like it. I’ve been using it on the Desktop for around 24 hours and I love the interface to it. A bit more modern looking. See how it goes I’ll keep brave around as a backup since this is still an Alpha.

Firefox on EOS! I keep Chromium installed as a backup.

ungoogled chromium

Vanadium on Android since I’m running GrapheneOS, and good ol’ Firefox I’ve been running since forever on desktop.

Update: using Librewolf now. Don’t really agree with Mozilla anymore.

I’ve been playing with Zen browser for few days now and I must say I really like it. Getting used to side tab buttons took me some time, but it wasn’t a deal-breaker really. Zen feels fast and after some tweaks in about:config I managed to improve it to my liking. Before Zen only Brave could provide randomized fingerprint for my web surfing. Well, Mullvad did, but it also blocked many websites I regularly use.

  • Brave (based on Chromium)
  • Firefox
  • Floorp (based on Firefox)
  • LibreWolf (based on Firefox)
  • Min (based on Chromium)
  • Palemoon (I believe based on Firefox)
  • Tor (when needed)
  • Vivaldi (based on Chromium)
  • Waterfox (based on Firefox)

Recently tried FireDragon, but I didn’t like the theme used for the browser (weird colors IMO), I didn’t see a way to change the theme, and I didn’t feel like spending more time researching if the theme could be changed. Additionally, although there is the option to add a wallpaper for the background, the option doesn’t currently work. Lastly, no matter what setting I chose, all sites showed up using a dark theme, which I didn’t like.

I saw a previous reply that indicates the browser uses side tabs and based on the reply it doesn’t seem that the side tabs can be changed. Therefore, I’m not interested in it, but thank you anyway.

I’ve switched to Zen as my primary browser from Firefox and … the transition to the tabs on the side was rather uneventful. But I can understand why someone is skeptical about it. For me, it didn’t turned out to be a deal breaker at all. I really like the browser up so far and spend some days tinkering with the UI and it’s now in the realm of “Well, I’ve put some effort into it to make it my own”. Using the regular Firefox UI now fells like… outdated and limited.

Essentially everything which worked in FF also works in Zen. Not only the extensions which I’m using but also syncing accounts (via Mozilla still). In terms of updates, the Zen team is deploying the updates pretty soon after new builds of FF.

But one should keep in mind that it’s still a work in progress and certain features which they’ve introduced aren’t fully implemented yet which may result in odd behavior. Due to that reason I’ve disabled some of those features. Especially those which are labeled as experimental.

Primary browser: Firefox
Secondary browser: Chawan (it’s in the AUR)

Experimenting with: Floorp

Firefox because you can’t teach an old dog new tricks. Secondary for browsing over SSH connections in text mode. Works quite well, better than w3m or lynx.

Floorp to see if I can wean myself off of FF.

Floorp is a browser I am going to test too. I have it installed and done basic checks but looks interesting.

I use LibreWolf exclusively. I don’t see a need for any other browsers to be installed.
