kitty has been my go to for many many years now
Foot is everything I need. Dead simple with small footprint of resource usage. I used the st with same reasons when I was on xorg.
I’m with Kitty for some days now and I really like it. ![]()
I use whatever is the default on my DE because I tend to use sensible DEs and so their software is also sensible. In this case I use xfce’s terminal though it would be nice if it could render bitmap images for *fetch programs.
That’s why I switched to Kitty in GNOME, because GNOME Terminal and Console don’t support images. Now I also use Kitty in KDE. ![]()
I also tend to follow the DE’s default terminal, but Kitty and Alacritty are probably my favorites.
Tilix
Sakura is my favorite and I use it 99% of the time.
If I use Hyprland, it’s Kitty. If I’m using River or Sway, then it’s Foot.
I use kitty for the built in image previews. This is now a must have feature for me and I do not want to use a terminal anymore that does not support images.
