@UncleSpellbinder know you enjoy a bit of Ren, this just came out

Man I can never guess whats coming next with my music, love it

Another mad one I haven’t heard in a while, if i did gamble I would be placing bets right now

If I had a Deserted Island Top 10, two of them would be the Saints. This album right here (with No, your product) and All Fool’s Day which may the best beginning-to-end rock record I’ve ever heard on earth.

When I was a kid I had a video where it had this song and others like it

The Messthetics and James Brandon Lewis, Deface the Currency (2026), ā€œGestationsā€

with the wonderful fuzz chords at the beginning this is so throwback 60s/70s with a very nervy vibe. The 60s is the horn driven band, the 70’s comes in at 2:33 when the Jeff Beck guitar comes in then it changes tempo.

I would not dare call it fusion. just a wonderful updating of eras. A real beginning to end listen. Really nice. Could listen to this band easily in the background doing Linux stuff or reading etc.

Love this music video. Cossack dancing is unreal. My knees are impressed and most certainly not going to try.

Edit: I just realised it almost looks like I’m attempting cossack dancing in my avatar :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

OOooooohhh. NICE. I had no idea they had a new release! I’ve been a fan since their debut release in 2019.

For those unaware - The Messthetics is an American musical group founded by bassist Joe Lally and drummer Brendan Canty of Fugazi, along with guitarist Anthony Pirog. Their music is entirely instrumental and has been described as ā€œjazz punk jam.ā€

Just purchased Deface the Currency. Thanks for sharing, @kwg, I might have completely missed this otherwise. :vulcan_salute:

Another semi-dark song. Belongs to a band Duran-Duran, well before my time. Not the original but mixed.

I have to stop listening to dark music and shift to a more uplifting and upbeat playlist.
