What happens if I modify a .py from an AUR when updated?

Hi, just wonder what will happen. Scenario: I use “Dynamic Wallpaper” from AUR, but there’s a merge request open for more than a year to add more filetypes. Change is just a few lines in one of the python files. I just wonder if I add them myself what will happen if the AUR gets updated. Will that fail or will my change be overwritten or warning during “yay”?

Your change will get overwritten when the new version of the file is deployed.

Thanks, then I‘ll do it myself and won’t run in an outdated package sometime in the future!

It’ll be overwrote as dalto mentioned, I have a few notes that I keep of changes like this so I can easily implement anytime I need. You could make your own pkg but in my opinion if only changing minimal things easier to just change myself when needed.
