My graphics card and cpu can’t handle these highly animated 3d rendering hd-environments. Plus. My nerves go completely berserk, and I might just go out on to the street and begin harming innocent people.
True, but battery life isn’t really a concern to me…
at home it’s usually plugged in or nearby a charger,
and when i’m taking the train to work, i always have a 25000 mah powerbank with me that supports 45W quickcharging…
On older titles the battery life is great actually…
Been playing Oblivion with a bunch of mods, and it only draws about 7-8 Watts then, giving me a battery life of nearly 6 hours.
Speaking of Oblivion, I have been planning to restart Skyrim for a long time but I wonder what kind of hell is to get mods running on linux? I prefer my skyrim allmost vanilla-like experience but I need at least skyUI and unofficial patch running
i used SteamTinkerLaunch, and from there i installed Vortex Mod Manager…
My guess is skyUI uses Skyrim Script Extender?
I only got Oblivion Script Extender to work, by installing it on a vanilla oblivion install on windows, and then transferring over the complete installation from Windows to Linux…
(well, i did get it to work in desktop mode initialy, but it wouldn’t work when launched from the SteamDeck UI, so this workaround might not be necessary for you)
Well it took some time but it is working now MO2 was pain to get running because installer needed innoextract package and it was documented only in github discussion
Vortex worked out of box but I did not get Sky UI run with it
So in case of lobotomy: To get MO2 running with Arch:
Install Steamtinkerlaunch: yay -S steamtinkerlaunch
Install innoextract: sudo pacman -S innoextract (Don’t try to install MO2 before this!)
Install MO2: steamtinkerlaunch mo2 install
Welp, XCOM2 ran for a bit on my notebook and now it is not. A $13 mistake that I learned. I also haven’t been able to get Heroes of the Storm to work. I’m batting a 1000!
The lesson learned? I will need to check Can I Run It? or PC Game Benchmark website before I purchase a Steam game to make sure it can run!
Thus I went back to my Steam library and dusted off Faster Than Light (FTL). I got to Sector 3 until the whole crew perished. Also, don’t attack giant spiders!
I have been playing Final Fantasy 9 on the switch. I had played it years ago on the PS2(the ps1 version) but I had bought it forever ago on the switch during a sale and wanted to play it again. It is one of my favorite Final Fantasy games next to 6, 7 and 10.
