I too use Posteo. Have been for several years. More than happy. I like the alias feature. My email account is a hydra that I can decapitate whenever a head becomes infected. ---

I would use Posteo, good pricing, same features as Mailfence, except one that prevents me from using it. I have my own domain and it doesnā€™t appear you can use personal domains with Posteo. šŸ¤·ā€ā™‚ļø ---

As far as I know you can do this at [mailbox.org](http://mailbox.org). The price probably also starts at 1ā‚¬ upwards. ---

Iā€™m also starting to lean more towards mailbox. There seems to be a lot of experience behind this company. With Posteo, it bothers me a bit that they peddle their green attitude. In my opinion, a service provider should not make a political statement. Doesnā€™t fit. But I also have to get my head around the effort of making the switch. ---

Donā€™t worry, German data protection is watertight. Whether it is adhered to is another question. For me, it is important that my data is no longer stored on American servers. Therefore, no more Gmail in the future. ---

The mailbox .org blog at least conveys a lot of transparency. Several server locations exclusively in Germany. I donā€™t know what Iā€™m going to do yet ā€¦ ---

They both do, but for me I need to see how many times the German vs Belgium courts over the years have gained/granted access re requests both to server info by parties inside the country and outside. It doesnā€™t matter how locked down you are, if the info is going to be handed over to the governments. šŸ•¶ ---

I have my main account at [mailbox.org](http://mailbox.org) for a couple of years. I canā€™t complain. šŸ¤·šŸ»ā€ā™‚ļø Iā€™m not using any of the other features (calendar, contacts and whatnot) though. Mail only. ---

I have now also signed up with [mailbox.org](http://mailbox.org) (standard package \> 3ā‚¬ per month). I love the 25 alias addresses. Until now I had a separate Gmail address for each service. ---

Yeah I always suspected protonmail was shady. I think its best if you use a mail provider where you can use POP3 protocol and make sure the email is sitting in an encrypted local system.
