What determines the text color of CLI applications, and how can I change it?

Im a newbie. After installing EOS, I noticed that all my CLI apps, including ZSH itself, have a certain set of colors that are often in use. Very purple-ish. I noticed that even in ZSH, the colors did not correlate to their meaning. For instance, in my ZSH prompt, green becomes purple and so on.

My question is, what is causing all these apps to have the same style of text output coloring, and how can I change that?

It is probably the color settings in your terminal application. Which application are you using?

I am using xfce4-terminal. Just uploaded an image to show.

Yes, those are the color settings we set in the terminal by default for Xfce. You should be able to go into the terminal settings and change it.
