BTW..
I dont think this is the first time I saw this mentioned and I thought I might note that this does not require a package..

python <(curl -s https://raw.githubusercontent.com/sivel/speedtest-cli/master/speedtest.py)

Should perform the same (ookla) speedtest without any installation.
(Assuming one has curl and a reasonably up to date python.. python3 could explicitly be used as well.)

Thanks for clarification. But both are broken with a 403 Error. The error is usually on the server side

Are these the closest servers to your location?

speedtest --list can give you a list. The closest the server the more accurate the result.

I just noted that one in Brussels 400 something km away. So that’s why I asked.

I noticed this too. This one is from @cscs

I only have 50Mbit/s /DSL

speedtest-cli never picks a server near me (Sheffield, Northern England), always seems to be down south. Today Watford, just north of London…

What if you run speedtest --list and pick the closest by number speedtest --server <nr> ?

  • Firefox

More than enough for my personnal use. But the most important is the DE : MATE indeed, simple for what my needs are.

Good to see the MATE love, still! Solid DE.

You are missing the point, i was talking about softmaker office

Sure i am not pushing here!

Some of these are just things I like but could live without if you paid me enough, lol.

librewolf (if you're wondering, I de-harden it, lol, plus I add Firefox UI Fix - Photon Style, because Proton is ugly, and I also use compact mode)
thorium-browser (when I need to help my Dad with work, he uses a bunch of Chrome extensions)
vmware-workstation-noxsave (a custom package I made)
virtualbox (along with the dkms package, lol)
gzdoom
lzdoom (occasionally)
woof-doom
