Jan Bang, Reading the Air (January 2024). It has become one of my favorite albums of 2024.

Well into 2024, I resisted listening to this album, doubting that a vocal performance by a favorite electronica artist could be any good. Actually, this album is brilliant. If you don’t like vocals, think of the voice here as just another instrument; but then you might miss the excellent lyrics.

Preoccupations.

  • I recently discovered this band. And I LOVE them.

I found them on a post-punk subreddit I frequent. One of the posts described them as “if The Sound, Interpol, and Echo & The Bunnymen had a baby”. I can’t say I disagree. I hear elements of them all.
