My hubby (then BF) used to make mixtapes to play in the car or walkman. He even turned the wheels of the cassette half a turn in order to minimize the pauses. I was always too lazy for that. Things got even better when MiniDisc appeared. We each had a walkman and in the house a very high end recorder. Oh, and a MiniDisc car radio as well. Making “mixtapes” was easy peasy and we really both enjoyed it. And the sound quality was soooo so much betterer than cassette.
Nowadays we have everything on MP3, like everybody else. Whole record collection on a 128GB USB-stick is pretty cool.
