One of my all-time favourite swedish tunes. The Bellman lyrics are dam great, but this performance is just intense. Particularly as Åkerstrom looks like your public school math teacher in this clip.

But I know what song it is!

Damn, that is an intense performance! I recommend using a free vpn browser service or something, it works fine here in Norway. It is an 18th century tune.

Swedish ‘‘visor’’ traditions were so popular here in the sixties that norwegian folk artists released albums singing in swedish, haha.

There’s a story behind the Swedish chef.

An actual Swedish chef made an appearance on an american morning talk show, and he was only told that he was supposed to cook. When he got on the host stared to ask him questions, ans as he knew almost no English he panicked and replied in Swedish in a very staccato way in his own Dalcarlia accent (witch is by no means representative of how Swedish generally sounds).

One of the Muppet Show Writers saw the spectacle and hence the Swedish chef was born.

I did kind of wonder where that came from! I am no expert on how Swedish sounds (!) but I though it was an unusual ‘meme’ (not that I thought of it as a meme in those days) and it was my least favourite recurring theme on that show. I guess I don’t always get the joke  - except if it’s British (least frequently mean-spirited comedy I know)

And here in Germany the Swedish chef is the Danish chef actually.
