love the beegees. everyone should. Alone is great late-period work. some of my favorite songs are off that release. they have unique talents and I could not do one right after the other without vodka. they are such a special band in doses. I think the best song Barry Gibb (he wrote everything; Barry Gibb is the last man standing of the singing brothers) wrote was the haunting Immortality sung by Celine Dion. I donât even like Celine Dion but for a Gibb coverâŚwow.
the sparse Leadbelly pure blues 1930s is the scary template.
Cobain brought it to the forefront. He sang backup on Laneganâs version. Then he tried to make it his own. Got a lot of radio play. Not as scary or weird as Laneganâs or the original. Laneganâs dirty grunge version sounds closer to Leadbellys and I think the best of the three.
