Welcome app not launching

Seems to be up to date.

ls -l /usr/lib/libdav1d.so*

Strange why it’s not working?

Maybe some other dependency is old?
Did you update system?

Yes it’s right up to date but I’ll run a mirror update and check again.

Edit: It won’t run anyway. I forgot.

Is your machine a testing machine? Or do you have testing repos in use?

No. I did add grub when it was in the testing but it’s been updated twice since then and i don’t think that has anything to do with it?

To be sure,

  • see your /etc/pacman.conf for the testing repos
  • try command
    sudo pacman -Syyuu
and see if it wants to downgrade but don’t let it proceed.
    What is the output?
[ricklinux@asus-tuff ~]$ sudo pacman -Syyuu
[sudo] password for ricklinux:

 there is nothing to do
[ricklinux@asus-tuff ~]$

And you double checked no testing repos are in use?

Edit: looks like not from the output, so seems OK. Strange, I can’t think of a reason for this.

[endeavouros]

While using testing repos, did you upgrade anything else than grub?

Pacman log can tell…

I can’t remember for sure but if i did it would be up to date now anyway otherwise it would tell me.

Yeah, I guess so…
Strange!

This is the latest updates.

Strange why i have two ffmpeg files?

Why does yad try to use an old lib?

I see this from the previous updates.

[2023-10-11T16:46:41-0400] [PACMAN] Running 'pacman -D -q --asdeps --config /etc/pacman.conf -- eos-bash-shared'
[2023-10-11T16:46:48-0400] [PACMAN] Running 'pacman -S --config /etc/pacman.conf -- endeavouros/yad'

Edit That was probably when i tried removing welcome and then i reinstalled it.

Sorry, can’t solve this now, it is past midnight here…
Maybe I can think of something tomorrow.
