I installed the latest EndeavourOS-KDE today using the nvidia boot option. After installation, I noticed that applications were seemingly opening within a non-existent display. Upon opening the Display Configuration window, I see the non-existent display (I only have a single display connected to my RTX 3080 GPU, this is a PC, not a laptop):
Figured out a work-around. Disabled the ghost nvidia display and set my Samsung Odyssey Ark Gen 2 as the primary. The taskbar panel disappeared as I did this, but I entered edit mode and added a new one.
To ensure that GPU functions were working properly on my now properly configured primary display, I installed Steam and ran V Rising with Proton experimental, all is well there and it seems to run better than it did in Windows, where the game ran at around 120 FPS at max settings. On EndeavourOS, I am hitting my displays refresh rate at 165 FPS constant at max settings. Decent!
Discord screen streaming appears to be broken, though this issue is completely separate and I presume it has to do with electron based apps not playing nicely with Wayland. I plan on just setting up OBS to handle this in the mean-time anyway.
I’m not sure if these requests operate like tickets, but this issue can be considered resolved!
