Hi i am trying to install waydroid by following the Arch wiki
I got this error and I cant seem to make sense of it
➜ ~ sudo waydroid container start
[16:54:03] ERROR: [Errno 2] No such file or directory: '/var/lib/waydroid/waydroid.log'
[16:54:03] See also: <https://github.com/waydroid>
Run 'waydroid log' for details. Alternatively you can use '--details-to-stdout' to get more output, e.g. 'waydroid --details-to-stdout init'.
➜ ~ waydroid log
tail: cannot open '/tmp/tools.log' for reading: No such file or directory
Can anyone help me make sense of it and figure it out?
I would also like to mention that I got this error when I did that 1.41 part of the wiki. modprobe: ERROR: could not insert ‘binder_linux’: Device or resource busy
but my googling efforts took me to a manjaro forum where the reply said it probably means its already installed but I didnt know how to verify it
Thank you for your time in advance . Can’t wait to play Love & Deepspace on my PC
You didn’t need to do the 1.41 section. That was only if you were using a kernel that doesn’t have the binder module as the previous section mentioned. Just using the linux-zen kernel is enough. Although if I’m reading the wiki correctly it seems like all of the three main arch kernels now provide the binder modules.
I doubt it would ever be included as an installation option for the same reasons as all the other stuff people have sought to have included over the years. A bash script wouldn’t be all that useful since their isn’t much to do. This is no different than installing any other package minus the initial setup. I created a few bash scripts for my personal use case of starting waydroid and mounting a drive that it can see, but most of the above commands never need to be run again.
Each and every user has some preferences that they think they should be included in the
installer. However that is not what EndeavourOS is about: https://endeavouros.com/about-us/
