Video playback failure

I am running into an issue when trying to play a stream on a website. I have updated the intel-media-driver, and ffmpeg is up to date. I am not sure how to troubleshoot this, here is a screenshot of the error;

Understandably, you may not wish to share the stream in question for privacy reasons. If that’s of no concern though, that may help.

To troubleshoot, the first thing I’d look at is any browser console output. It’ll usually present more meaningful errors. This is accessed via the dev tools, in both Firefox and Chromium derivatives (right-click > Inspect):

Then select “Console”.

Hopefully, when doing this on the streaming site with the issue, a useful error is provided.

When I do this, the error gives some more info but is still cryptic. I am not even sure why bitmovin is what is being used;

What browser are you using?

Firefox… I downloaded chrome and it works fine there… I hate chrome, but I suppose I can use it for limited scenarios like this.

Perhaps have a play with Firefox here, and see if you can replicate the issue?

Set it to “Use our Defaults”.

I face this issue on firefox but in chrome i dont face any issue and the video playback nicely on it so i change my browser and start using chrome

Seems to work on the HLS stream type, which is what I was having my issue with on the other site. Perhaps it has to do with the fact it is DRM protected?
