Using Davinci Resolve video editor

Okay … let me look at info on Nvidia and Cuda as I’m not sure.

Maybe try installing cuda?

Can i see what it wants to install if you run this command but don’t install it just yet. I just want you to post the output here. Then you can just close the terminal and not install it. So don’t press enter when it shows the output. Of course it will need your password first to get the output.

sudo pacman -S cuda

If you go to this site for cuda and click on more applications and go to page 25 you will find davinci-resolve is supported. I am just not experienced with this software or the driver/software setup needed.

Edit: I want to see what it wants to install and check if the drivers are different? That’s why i want to to the output of the command to install cuda.

Cuda is already installed, I installed it when trying to find a solution to my problem, but it doesn’t show in Davinci Resolve:

PS: language on my system is in French as I am French.

Cuda should be a choice here (Davinci Resolve settings panel):

This is old but maybe it gives you some idea?

Edit: It would be difficult for me to know what the issue is. Whether its kernel related or some package missing that is needed? Not sure if anyone else uses this software that may be of some help?

I’m just thinking about it and trying to help. :man_shrugging:

Edit: Je suis désolé. J’aimerais pouvoir être de plus d’aide. Je ne suis pas un expert mais je fais de mon mieux.

Maybe I can try to downgrade the drivers, if it is possible, or downgrade cuda, but I am not sure how to do this. Will look into this tomorrow.

I wouldn’t get too eager to make any radical changes until you maybe research a bit more. Supposedly you need gcc installed for cuda.

Can you post

gcc --version

Maybe also install

cuda-tools

gcc (GCC) 13.1.1 20230429

@arnauld
Jusqu’à présent, au moins, j’ai pu aider un peu. Cela me fait me sentir moins mal.

I just installed cuda-tools because I wanted to try before going to sleep, but no luck, it didn’t work. I will take my time to find a solution, I am not in a hurry.

Merci encore! Using only the CLI is new for me, I was used to Manjaro and the GUIs it provides. But I am quite interested in EndeavourOS now.
