USB mice aren't functioning correctly in latest build

Hello. I am attempting to troubleshoot a problem with USB mice on a laptop. The problem is that when using a USB mouse, anytime the cursor reaches any window on the desktop it will briefly stop, then as it travels across the window it continually stops and starts. The issue started in the past month after system updates. This behavior is not repeatable with the trackpad or a Bluetooth mouse.

The fault cannot be with the USB port, as it works fine as do others I’ve tried. I’ve tried 2 different USB mice, and they all have the same issue. I also tried downgrading the kernel to the LTS version, but the issue remains even then. I’m now on the current kernel, 6.13.

Is it possible at all to share any information about your system and mice ?

Sure, what is needed? It’s an HP Omen circa 2020. Mice are Logitech G502 and a Microsoft wired mouse.

Perhaps run inxi -Fxxc0z | eos-sendlog. A link will be created for you to share here. It will provide system info that may help someone assist you.

Well, I don’t know why, but, booting into Endeavour about a week later, the USB mouse problem has resolved itself.
