The issue of apparmor.d-git with systemd 258 has been reported to the devs:

@cactux and @Cphusion did you try to boot with the fallback initramfs to see if that worked or did not work?
And thanks guys for the great post. I am going to hold off updating my system for a few days till this is sorted out.

Yes, the only fix was removing apparmor.d-git.
It looks as if it was only one apparmor profile causing the issue. It seems as if a fix has already been committed:
