Updates broke microphone

Best to back them up elsewhere, then delete them from the .config directory. Though, if you didn’t manually edit those files, the settings in them would be irrelevant to you.

Good point. I backed it up just in case before deleting the config files. Then I updated my system and now I have no audio issues!

Great! It seems that there’s another update this morning, and it makes the audio disappear again. I had to delete my config files again, and reboot. I like to keep my wireplumber config in home, for easy access and for the audio suspend fix.

(or it could be I restored another snapshot yesterday, for other reasons, and forgot about it this morning and the update showed up again).

Very weird. This has got to be specific to only certain hardware or software configurations. Because with both recent updates, I only had one very minor issue. The first of these two updates only reset my volume to 40%. Other than that, I’ve had no issues at all.
